If you want to reuse the socket, do not pry it apart with a screwdriver. Pull the socket out of the shell as far as the attached wire will allow. If you don’t have enough wire to work with, pull the cord up from the bottom of the lamp for more slack.

Loosen the terminal screws on the socket and pull the cord wires out from under it.
